Bio
After earning her Juris Doctorate, Ms. Henninger served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable John A. Peterson, Jr., J.S.C. in the Family Division on Ocean County.
Thereafter, Ms. Henninger began working as a Staff Attorney for Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services (now known as South Jersey Legal Services), where she primarily focused her practice on all aspects of Family Law, including divorce, domestic violence, child support, child support, and post-judgment applications. While at Ocean-Monmouth Legal Services, Ms. Henninger also represented clients in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy matters, Landlord-tenant matters, and collection matters. Ms. Henninger was the recipient of Legal Services of New Jersey’s Outstanding Attorney award in 2011.
In 2012, Ms. Henninger accepted a position with the State of New Jersey as the Domestic Violence Hearing Officer in Ocean County. Ms. Henninger presided over hearings for parties applying for Temporary Restraining Orders (TRO) and would make a recommendation to a Superior Court Judge whether the TRO should be granted or denied. In addition to presiding over thousands of hearings during her two (2) year tenure as the Domestic Violence Hearing Officer, Ms. Henninger was a certified mediator by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and mediated both matrimonial and non-dissolution family matters every week.
Ms. Henninger returned to the full-time practice of law in March 2014 when she opened her own practice, Kristen S. Henninger, Esquire, LLC. Ms. Henninger serves as an Early Settlement Panelist (ESP) in Ocean County, and volunteers her time to speak at the Parenting Education classes in Ocean County. Ms. Henninger also takes pro bono family cases through South Jersey Legal Services and is member of the Ocean County Bar Association, where she serves on the Family Law, Women’s, and Special Civil Part Committees.
This practice is devoted primarily to family law, including divorce, domestic violence maters, child custody, child support, alimony, adoptions, prenuptial agreements and much more. We also handle Landlord-Tenant matters, Wills and Estates, Municipal Court matters, Bankruptcy, and civil matters. We proud serve all of New Jersey and are here to help you.
